Funny, curious cows. When I look at those lashes I can't help but think of butterfly kisses! I gave up trying to get a good match to the color of this painting. You will have to imagine it looks much better in person. Even if I did, monitors and screens can vary. So I will leave it be.
Soaking up through rays. I have a stack of paintings that either never got finished or just weren't showing. My goal is to go through them one by one and either re-work them or paint ivery them. Here is the first of many.
I came across this cool picture on Pixabay and tucked it away for future reference. Last week we had our first real snowfall and I couldn't wait to paint this. All those shades of white and the horses, oh my, so lovely. I can just hear the sounds of them pulling that sleigh through the snow!
After a day of painting I am glad I salvaged some of my work. I struggled with a headache all day yesterday and two different paintings were ready to be wiped clean but I left them sit and walked away. This morning I looked at my work with fresh eyes and may have saved one of them.
I forgot how much I love painting on texture. I have been priming my panels with a smooth finish for too long. Starting the new year out with the goal of enjoying texture, thick paint and looser brushwork.
